    • SV should start latest at the beginning of the training

    • eSV means, that an external person is included in the internal processes

    • eSV should focus on current cases treated during the training period (not old prototypic cases or discussion of special cases treated by somebody)

    • Results of the eSV must be able to be transferred

    • eSV should focus on including the method of IP in a complete treatment course of e.g. difficult to treat depression https://www.doctorfmh.ch/

    • Organization and honorary of the eSV should be provided by the training center

Organization example: 16 credis eSV are needed = about 1.5 h per month for a 1 year course of eSV. In times of virtual meetings, small centres might relatively easy organize one eSV together.

  • Currently, no specific supervision for ECT and TMS is required.

Maybe in future the certificate will be splitted into

    1. certificate of interventional psychiatry – focus ECT

    2. certificate of interventional psychiatry – focus TMS

  • No employment in the strict sense needed (no contract)

At least a 10 – 20 % «level of employment» on which legal basis ever must be absolved in the practical field of interventional psychiatry

  • No, you do not need a FMH logbook (there is no FMH logbook for IP). But you need to prove all requirements according to the training program. To help, a SGIP-SSPI logbook has to be kept. The logbook has to be signed by the head of the training center and can be found on the SGIP-SSPI homepage.

  • At least 50 credits of theoretical, subject-related continuing education must be demonstrated. For the re-certification, the methods (TMS or ECT) will be noted. If you want to be re-certified for both methods, you need to prove at least 30 indications and 300 treatments in either method.

    - Publications in the subject area can be recognized for the theoretical, subject-related advanced training with a maximum of 16 credits (analogous to 3.2.1.3).

  • You need to go on our SGIP-SSPI homepage. You have to fill out the SGIP-SSPI application form (Cave: Not SGPP, SIWF or others! Any other concept will not be accepted) and you have to write a comprehensible concept for your center.

    1. Application – a special form is available for download at the SGIP-SSPI Homepage

    2. Training concept - a template is available to candidate centers: https://www.sgip-sspi.ch/training

  • Currently in the first phase of IP in Switzerland, training centers are accredited for ECT and TMS. More than 400 treatments / year have to be proven (ECT and / or TMS)

For re-certification after 5 years, the certificates will be specialized for the respective methods:

    TMS 400 treatments

    ECT 400 treatments

    TMS+ECT 400 treatments each

Maybe, in future also the first accreditation will be specialized to the methods. For this, this topic has to be discussed and voted for the the next General Assembly (2023) and SIWF program has to be re-phrased 6.1
